Growing Up Wrestling: Seeing both sides

Wrestling has been part of many people’s lives for years. For some, they become wrestlers or another part of the wrestling world while others know what it is  like from a unique perspective.
Like many fans, I did not know that much about wrestling aside from what I saw on television in addition to local shows. To further add, I was like every other fan. I was a young kid who loved wrestling for its competitive nature. It was also because of the people that were involved. Everyone worked together to make the show happen. I got to know some of the other fans as well as the wrestlers and their girlfriends or wives. In time, I came to know more than I envisioned I would ever know. It was not only from research I had done; but, by things that I was told from different sources.
Not only have I been watching wrestling since I was seven; but, I have been going since I was ten. After a while, I had come to know most if not all the wrestlers as well as quite a few fans. It was not until I was 12 that I felt part of the wrestling  family that I had come to love. Likewise, they had become brothers and sisters. Not only that, but it was also my second home and family. Incidentally, I even got help on some of my homework assignments all due to bringing my homework to a few shows. In contrast, the political side of wrestling was far less happy in addition to being far too pointless a majority of the time.
Politics are usually never good. It is often a little worse when it comes to the wrestling world. Steroid usage is the main culprit partially due to the bad reputation that it has brought to wrestling. In reference, it tends to come up at some point in a debate along with wrestling deaths. Furthermore, long term usage leads to unwanted side effects along with possibly getting suspended or fired. On the flipside, one of the few good things is that it can also be used in a good light for leverage. The BE A STAR program used by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) promotes anti-bullying of any form. There are quite a few way to use politics whether it is good or bad. Politics will always be around in sports. It is one of the things I have witnessed many times before.
Wrestling is not what many think. It is like any other sports job only year round. In time, people will realize how wrong their viewpoint is.
